Financial Services employs more than 2 million people in the UK and within the sector, Insurance forms a major part, employing around 330,000 people. The vast majority of the Insurance services transactions are carried out in contact centres around the UK and these will typically be separated into sales, customer service and the departments that policy holders contact in the event of having had a vehicle incident or incurred losses covered by their home insurance.
The Providing Financial Services Apprenticeship (Insurance route) recognises the various functions within the Insurance Sector and requires learners to select a minimum of two Industry Specific units in each NVQ that fits their particular job role. The rest of the qualification deals with the legal, compliance and organisational requirements of the job as well as elements of customer service and sales.
The Intermediate Apprenticeship is for:

Existing claim handlers
Uninsured loss handlers
Sales/Customer service assistant (insurer or broker)
Insurance intermediary
